Produced for the EPA and the California Department of Pesticide Regulations, this is one of five videos in a campaign designed to help community health workers talk with farmworkers about pesticide exposure and safety.
We approached it as cinematic storytelling rather than typical PSA messaging, centering real people and real stakes so the material would land emotionally as well as informationally. Filmed on location in Fresno, California, and adapted into Spanish, Mixteco, and Zapoteco for the EPA.
The campaign was recognized by the American Public Health Association and American Photography for its use of cinematic storytelling to communicate health issues to farmworkers.
